Learn how to make the Luna Cardigan, a chunky, oversized, patchless patchwork cardigan with our virtual class! We will walk you through the pattern through this 3 session course, focusing on the basics of building a cardigan including how to do the half double crochet (hdc) stitch, make the "patches" distinct from one another, do a checkerboard pattern, create ribbing, make sleeves, sew on buttons and more! You will need to have the pattern for this class, but with purchase, you will receive an online coupon code for 50% off the pattern! A perk of the class that is not already in the pattern will be a design template for a cropped and long version of the cardigan, which will be sent to you via email so you will be able to design the cardigan in advance and prep the yarn needed. Crochet Level: Beginner - Advanced Beginner Required Materials/Tools: (See pattern for yarn estimations) Weight 5 Bulky Yarn (You may also double up on Weight 4 Worsted Weight yarn) 7mm Hook 8mm Hook Buttons Tapestry Needle Thread to match ribbing Sewing Needle Required Knowledge: Although we will be covering a lot of the class, it would be helpful for you to know the basics of crochet, such as how to chain, how to single crochet, and how to half double crochet. If you are having trouble with this, you will absolutely be helped in the class! Schedule: This will be a 3 course class! Classes will be from 7:00pm-9:00pm est / 4:00pm - 7:00pm pst You will also have to finish a lot of the project outside of the class, which the schedule will accommodate for! This way, we will all get to finish a project together! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BOOK ALL 3 CLASSES INDIVIDUALLY! Before week one, be sure you have the yarn and tools needed along with the first draft of your design template done! May 25, Class 1: Creating a swatch and doing a gauge check, designing your cardigan, sizing/custom sizing, switching colors, checkered pattern, mattress stitch for sewing June 1, Class 2: Creating the sleeves, how to make ribbing, increasing, sleeve sizing June 8, Class 3: Join as you go ribbing, creating buttonholes, sewing on buttons and weaving in ends!
